Captain Brian Hughes was killed while fighting the Ferguson Fire on July 29, 2018. He was 33 years young. Brian was part of a very elite group of firefighters known as the “hotshots.” This group of men and women are sent to the heart of these fires. These deployments are extremely dangerous for these brave women and men. Many times, the deployments would last for months at a time, working 12 to 18 hours a day, but Brian thrived on it. Brian was passionate about his career choice. He was highly regarded and respected by his peers. Brain, you are a true hero who will never be forgotten. Rest in peace.
